Our Tavala Count down to 2018

Did You Hear that Sound . . .

. . . it was the 2-Month Warning for 2017 !

Like in football, the last two minutes can often be the most exciting. And the last two MONTHS of your year can be exciting, too.

But it takes some discipline, some real commitment—maybe even some recalibration and implementing some new systems.

The last 60 days of the year include some holidays which we certainly want to enjoy….and luckily for those of us with Tavala, we have a product called TRIM that gives you energy- suppresses the appetite, reduces cravings, helps you boost your metabolism and lose weight. Last holiday many people actually LOST WEIGHT.

But here we also want to discuss business and we also want to finish the year strong.

What are your goals for the balance of 2017? What do you want to achieve? What do you want to change? What will set you up for a great start in 2018?

You can dig down deep and be a 10 on the “Go-For-It Scale” and knock out your goals. Or, you can slack off and tell yourself you’ll start fresh in the New Year. Which will it be?

What’s stopping you? Most of the time, we’re unclear of the next step and so we don’t take it. If that’s the case, your next step is to get clear on what you need to do. Don’t let confusion and fear keep you from building your confidence as you chip out the last—and perhaps the most important—yardage of the game.

This is YOUR life. This is YOUR game. It’s no one else’s to play. No one will play it for you.

By winning in the last two months of 2017, you’ll be able to practice the Peak to Peek Principle. You’ll be able see further and clearer from the last peak you climb. And in doing so you’ll set even bigger goals for next year. With Jef Welch, a masterful leader for 30+ years in network marketing, joining Tavala new systems are in place and it will be easier than ever to grow and stay on track.

Last December was a winning month for Dave and I in a number of ways—both personally and professionally. For one, we joined Tavala and began sharing the opportunity with people we wanted to work with- and we resigned from a company we had been with for over 10 years. People ask us all the time WHY…and the simple answer is because it was no longer serving us professionally in network marketing and because our reputations were at stake. We simply couldn’t make good on some things that we simply not working. (No one wants to be on a ship that is sinking, especially when you take your ‘family’ that trusts you with you- right?)

2017 has been a transformative year for us and we’re looking to making November and December of this year a Slam-Dunk win! How about you?

Let’s Play!

Make it a great day,

KUDOS: I owe it to a friend who sends me awesome emails periodically and many of them spur on ideas for blogs. So, I’d like to give credit to my friend, Michael Angier, founder of Success Net with his lovely wife Dawn as he wrote a good share of this blog in an email that I received…. of course I added my ‘twist’ to it and made it applicable to our business and life.

To learn more about Success Net go to www.SuccessNet.org. I highly recommend his business coaching & training and books.

Goals & Dreams by Steven Gundry, MD…..good stuff.

I received this email today from Dr. Steven Gundry, author of the “PLANT PARADOX”. I thought it was worth sharing… on GOALS.

Do you want to accomplish all of your goals and dreams?

Of course, I’m asking already knowing the answer is a resounding “yes.”

And in just a moment, I’m going to give you a simple, powerful tip to help you achieve anything you set your mind to.

But first, I think it’s important to show you what might be holding you back in the first place…

You see, there are two things that have the ability to stop you dead in your tracks when it comes to your goals.

I call them, “dream killers.” But you might know them better as perfectionism and fear.

Dream Killer #1: Perfectionism

Now, there’s a quote I love from my good friend, Maria Shriver. And it goes like this:

“Perfectionism doesn’t make you feel perfect; it makes you feel inadequate.”
~ Maria Shriver, Journalist and activist

And it’s so true.

Perfectionism is just like quicksand — it drags you and your dreams down with it.

Now, I don’t know about you, but I used to fall into this “perfection trap” all the time.

The problem is, waiting until the perfect moment to start something almost always ends in failure or disappointment.

And the reason is simple: There is no perfect moment in life. There will always be another obstacle waiting just around the corner.

Which leads us to…

Dream Killer #2: Fear

Or as I call it, “the what-if game.”

You know, what if this goes wrong, or what if that goes wrong…

Now, if this sounds like you, you’re not alone. Fear is a major roadblock for countless people around the world.

You see, fear is destructive because it only allows you see the drawbacks of a situation.

And it’s hard to make any progress if you’re only thinking about the negative, right?

But what’s refreshing to know is, so many amazing things are born out of uncertainty!

Just take a look at this quote I dug up from famed author, Neale Donald Walsch:

“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.”
~ Neale Donald Walsch, Author

The best things happen in those moments when you don’t feel comfortable.

Think about it…

When you first asked your spouse out or did anything for the first time… were you nervous?

You bet you were!

So, what’s the simple solution to these two potentially destructive “dream killers?”

The Dream Maker: Just get started

Believe me, I know how simplistic that sounds. But it works.

And don’t just take my word for it…

Here’s what Robert Henri — acclaimed artist and painter — has to say about this philosophy:

“Do not let the fact that things are not made for you, that conditions are not as they should be, stop you. Go on anyway. Everything depends on those who go on anyway.”

You see, anything worth chasing is difficult — at first. And then something amazing happens…

You start to build momentum.

Soon, those little things turn into BIG things. And all of the sudden you begin to see progress.

As my good friend, Tony Robbins always says: “Progress equals happiness.”

So, even if you’re not where you want to be yet…

Just get started and you will get there.

I believe in you,

Steven Gundry, MD

Thank you Dr. Gundry for your email today.

This was a great reminder for me today. At first I thought the good ol’ doctor was going to pitch me on one of his products….but I was pleasantly surprised.

If this helped you in any way, I’d love to know. Its always fun to share inspiring ideas, words, concepts with friends.

Our New Tavala Customer Orders Help Us Donate to Wea Each Month

Each month we donate 5% of all our new Tavala customer orders to Wea, Women’s Earth Alliance. Our customer base is growing with TAVALA (www.DaveandJoy.com) and we appreciate both our customers AND also the opportunity to have a monthly donation from that revenue.

Also our customers feel great that their order helps people and projects in need.

Our donation today was ‘ear marked’ for the “Clean CookStove” project in Nigeria.

I spent a summer in Nigeria in 1975 and lived with a host family (Chief and his family, whom I am still in touch with and friends today!) so this project truly hit home as I remember the women in the market place and on the streets preparing foods for their families and communities, as well as to sell in the market.

WEA’s motto:

When women thrive, communities and the Earth thrive. This is one of our core beliefs here at WEA because we’ve seen it to be true.

#WEA‘s partnership with WISE Nigeria aims to improve health and safety of women and reduce deforestation by training women entrepreneurs to promote and sell life-saving clean cookstoves as an alternative to traditional stoves. The work these women are doing in their communities is becoming more and more important! According to a recent report by Sustainable Energy for All “more that 70% of Nigerians use wood as their main cooking fuel, stoking deforestation.”

Reliance upon poorly ventilated cooking stoves and wood burning fuel has impacts on both human and environmental health. Without “bold market-based strategies” and significantly more international and domestic investment, “the millions of women and children who suffer and die every year from dirty cooking fuels will not diminish.”

Countless studies point to the adoption of affordable, effective, and durable clean cooking technologies as a key influencer on our planet. WEA works in Nigeria with women-led NGO, WISE, to train women in clean cookstoves entrepreneurship and to build a replicable training model for other regions. Around 93,000 people die each year of smoke-related illnesses in Nigeria, and globally 3 billion people cook over open fires, producing 2-5% of annual greenhouse gas emissions. Shifting to clean cookstoves reduces emissions while also protecting women’s health.

The training participants (in teams of two) have returned to their communities, equipped with new skills and seed grants to launch clean energy initiatives based on their business plans. They’ve hit the ground running – hosting outreach events to demonstrate the benefits of cookstoves and to motivate community members to purchase this life-saving solution. What are YOU here to do? offer? 6 min. audio on HEALTH that is superb!

At a very young age I knew the subject of HEALTH, which included both NUTRITION & FITNESS was my path in life. As early as 2nd or 3rd grade I remember thinking becoming a gym teacher would be fun!

Professionally my most satisfying ‘jobs’ were in those arenas…starting with my first job out of college (UVM) working at Planned Parenthood as a “Health Care Worker”… from there it went: (you’ll see a common thread throughout)

To Membership Sales in a Health Club …

To being a Network Marketer in a Nutritional company

To being a Personal Trainer & Transformational Life Coach

To a Manager of a Gym…and Back to Network Marketing!

Face it, Ladies, Networking- or getting paid to virtually “share” (products, services, motives, recipes etc.) is in the DNA of most women. It comes easy, is simply is what we do naturally- whether we get paid or not.

Health also equals BALANCE….anything ‘out of balance’ where you become fanatical and ignore several other areas to perfect another, is not health. How do I know? I’ve been there.

INSTEAD…..Strive for a balance of Healthy Living-

  • Think Positive
  • Eat Better
  • Exercise Often
  • Feel Good

Today I was listening to an audio clip from one of my mentors in the industry of Network Marketing, Richard Bliss Brooke, and the topic was ON HEALTH. I couldn’t have said it better myself.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. You can also learn more about his teachings, books and seminars at www.BlissBusiness.com

Why we Donate a Portion of our Customer Tavala sales to WEA?

Early August of this year I was telling my daughter- in- law, Brie, that we wanted to create a foundation or better yet, work with an organization that was already doing great things in the world, in particular for women and families, and their communities.

She told me of an organization called WEA and immediately after speaking with one of the co-founders, we made the decision to support this organization – Women’s Earth Alliance.

In their own words….

“When women thrive, communities and the Earth thrive. This is one of our core beliefs here at WEA because we’ve seen it to be true. Want to know more? Take a look at this short video sharing more about our origin story and vision for the future!” Check out this brief video. If you are moved, you too can make a donation, either a one time donation OR simply purchase any of our TAVALA products as a customer and we’ll make a 5% donation. (www.DaveandJoy.com)

We are thrilled to have decided mid-August to donate 5% of all our TAVALA customer sales (including sample sales) to WEA (Women’s Earth Alliance) and later this week we’ll tally up all our customer sales from mid-August and make our first of many on–going monthly donations.

So if you are considering purchasing any of TAVALA PRODUCTS (Trim, Control, Bru, Quantum Relief Strips, Alert and Snooze) know that when you order through our website (www.DaveandJoy.com) that a portion of your sales will help this organization and women and communities in need. We AND WEA appreciate your support.

Doing great things, one person at a time…because we can. Tavala has made if possible to contribute in ways that touch our hearts and this is just the beginning.

We are all connected and in this together! If you’d like to contribute to WEA in any way we’ll help you make the connections to make that happen. If you’d like to donate your TAVALA customer sales to WEA or another organization that touches your heart, let’s talk. 802-846-7530

Once again, your customer purchases through our Tavala website will help Women’s Earth Alliance. www.DaveandJoy.com
