As I prepare for a Zoom Webinar LIVE today on the topic of Network Marketing I began reflecting on why I love this industry and why it my chosen career path.

If you had asked me ‘WHY NETWORK MARKETING’ several years ago I would have emphasized more on the income that is possible in this industry. Don’t get me wrong -that IS extremely important to me. I do want the “super checks” and residual income. But if I were to prioritize WHY I love the industry of network marketing there are other factors that stand out.

Not necessarily in this exact order, but a top priority in my life is that I love being my own boss and owning my own time schedule. Yes, I have worked jobs where I had a time clock or schedule but I prefer to own my time. This has become even more important now that I have adult children, grandchildren and aging parents. I’m simply unwilling to miss out on significant events in their lives.

#1 is TIME FREEDOM : Along with Being My Own Boss means I can work with WHO I want, WHEN I want and HOW I want. I choose to work with people who are positive minded, have high integrity, do what they say they will do and are TEAM players.

Sure, I have been my own boss when I was a personal trainer and transformational life coach, but there was no time building there and if I didn’t ‘work’ I didn’t get paid. Very different!

#2 is network marketing offers me the opportunity to contribute to the lives of others in a positive way. I get to inspire, collaborate, teach, learn/share, and be able to create what I want in my life and for others. Up until 5 years ago my mother made comments that I should have pursued her idea of a dream career for me in teaching/counseling or health. What she didn’t understand about network marketing is daily I teach, coach, counsel and talk about health all while making the difference in the lives of countless people.

Also, if you want to become a professional in network marketing, you truly do need to incorporate those skills as well as aspects of personal development. It’s often said, Network Marketing is personal development or leadership factory ‘disguised’ as a business opportunity.

#3 is I get to work from home, or wherever I am, as long as I have internet service. This means flexibility and I can work in my pajamas or comfy yoga clothes if I

choose. That may not sound important to some people but it is to me.

#4 Lastly, but not less important, is the income we can earn with Network Marketing. If I continued as a personal trainer, life coach or in sales, the likelihood of me earning a 6-figure income would be slim. Now it is my reality AND I plan on being a 7-figure earner in the not so distant future in this industry.

Along with income comes RESIDUAL INCOME. Often when we are traveling or not focused on our business, our checks continue to be deposited into our bank account, and often grow.

Here’s a fun fact. Whatever you earn in network marketing multiply that by 200 and you’ll get the approximate amount of money you’d need in savings to earn that kind of income each month.

Do you know if you are earning $10,000 a month residual income in network marketing that it is equivalent to having a 2 million dollar asset? The likelihood of having $2 Million in savings is remote for most, however earning $10,000 a month may not be…. in other words, it is doable!

Think about it. The other thing I love about network marketing is you can do it VERY part-time or full-time. It is your choice. I went to an #Interview for a #Job👔 yesterday. When the boss asked what I wanted for #Compensation💰 I replied:
1) First I would like commission? ?💲💲 on everything I sell.
2) I would also like the #Opportunity to earn #Free 🆓 trips, bonuses paid in full, and lifestyle bonuses starting at $350 every four weeks going up to $2,000 every four weeks.
3) I expect you to provide me with my own #Website 💻and provide free online training all over the 🌎.
4) When I bring in any new sales people🙍🏼, I deserve to be compensated💰 a percentage of their sales and the sales of any new people🙋🏼 they bring in.
5) I would like the opportunity to rapidly advance within the company📈.
6) When I do well, I expect lots of #Recognition🎉🎈, and more bonuses💰💲💰. Did I mention all expense paid trips for me and my family?
7) I would like my #Friends👭 and #Family👪 to work here.
8) By the way, I need to set my own #Schedule,📅 and only #Work when it suits me and my family💺.
9) And last, but not least I want to earn awesome gifts like brand new #Apple #IPad #AppleTV #Apple #EarBuds

After the owner recovered from shock⚡, he roared with laughter 😂😂😂😂 “You must be sick in the head🙆🏼, or dreaming😪. You will NEVER🚫find an opportunity like that 🌎ANYWHERE🌎 and if you do, come back and get me, cause I want to work there too” 💁🏼 So I gave him my #Tavala business card & he joined my team 😜!!!!

Did You Hear that Sound . . .

. . . it was the 2-Month Warning for 2017 !

Like in football, the last two minutes can often be the most exciting. And the last two MONTHS of your year can be exciting, too.

But it takes some discipline, some real commitment—maybe even some recalibration and implementing some new systems.

What’s stopping you? Most of the time, we’re unclear of the next step and so we don’t take it. If that’s the case, your next step is to get clear on what you need to do. Don’t let confusion and fear keep you from building your confidence as you chip out the last—and perhaps the most important—yardage of the game.

This is YOUR life. This is YOUR game. It’s no one else’s to play. No one will play it for you.

By winning in the last two months of 2017, you’ll be able to practice the Peak to Peek Principle. You’ll be able see further and clearer from the last peak you climb. And in doing so you’ll set even bigger goals for next year. Last December was a winning month for Dave and I in a number of ways—both personally and professionally. Have you noticed how many women are in network marketing? Why do you think that trend is growing?

I began to research the reason so many women are joining network marketing. It’s a growing phenomena so I thought understanding why more women than ever are getting involved in network marketing and direct sales would be insightful.

According to Women United for Change (http://www.womenunitedforchange.com) Lawyers, medical and healthcare professionals, marketing executives, pharmaceutical reps, accountants, real estate and mortgage professionals, teachers, working and stay-at-home moms, nurses, athletes, baby boomers, college students, financial planners – women from almost every imaginable background and age group are joining this profession in droves.

Why? and Why Network Marketing?

Women today want to make great money AND still have quality time with their kids, spouse (or other important priorities).
They’re tired of glass ceilings, office politics and long commutes.
They want to be in control of their schedules, to work when they want to work (and take time off when needed).
They love building a business that pays them more (and requires less of their time) as it grows, and to have no limits on the money they can make.
They want to feel the work they do makes a real difference for others, and to be part of a team that supports and helps each other.
They sense they have a bigger role to play in the world, and want to make a real and lasting contribution.

A network marketing/direct sales business gives women the opportunity to accomplish all these things (and SO much more).

This unique and collaborative business is the best option for women who want to create both an exciting income and an ideal lifestyle (and who thrive on making a real difference for others).

You know that women wear multiple hats and they want more: more for their families, more for their friends, more for the world, and even more for themselves.

At our core, we want it, and unfortunately, some women don’t know their options or are not excited enough to jump into something new.

Sure, there are a lot of ways to do it, and one of those ways is through Network Marketing. And guess what? As a woman, it’s in our DNA. Yes, Women were born to excel in Network Marketing.

I personally love working with other and helping other women as well as empowering one another. In network marketing competition among women, for the most part, is more friendly than in the traditional business world.

Once you are an entrepreneur more times than not it’s difficult to imagine being ’employed’ by anyone ever again. Some people claim they are “unemployable (I know I have used that term before) or even a “serial entrepreneur”!

Not everyone is cut out to successfully “be their own boss” but for those who are, the rewards are tremendous.

I believe you have to be self-motivated, self-driven, have a strong work ethic and be able to handle changes peacefully.

I say that because changes and disappointments will come that you did not anticipate or plan for. You may not reach your goal or have business be what you imagined on paper…but don’t fret. You are the creator of your life and as an entrepreneur you’ll continue to get ‘up to bat’ until you create what you set out to have and create. Simply put- that is what true entrepreneurs do!

I consider my self more of a ‘Social’ Entrepreneur than a traditional entrepreneur… which to me means I do what I do not just for time freedom, freedom of creative expression, but also to make the world a better place. By social entrepreneur it does not mean I am ‘not for profit’- far from it, I simply choose to create my business out of passion that I have burning in my soul.

I don’t and won’t compromise my reputation or sell anything to simply make the proverbial ‘buck’…. I must feel confident that what I am offering (product, opportunity or service) will actually HELP the person whom I am speaking to.

I was not born with an entrepreneur spirit nor did I grow up desiring to have my own business- it “found me” and perhaps if you have your own business now, it may have found YOU too!

Many people ask “How do I begin?”

I think it is imperative to discover your TRUE MOTIVATION! Why do you want to have your own business or be an entrepreneur?

One of the fastest way entrepreneurs get burnt out is when they do things for the wrong reasons, such as money, fame or to impress others.

While this strategy can be OK in the short term, in the long term it can harm your reputation and pull you off track on what truly motivated you in the first place.

If you are only motivated by money or fame, very quickly you are going to find yourself burnt out and feeling empty. It is far more satisfying to do things for yourself and to do things for the right reasons, whatever that means for you.

Honor Your Failures

It is easy to get side tracked by your failures as an entrepreneur and to blame or beat yourself for your mistakes, but a simple shift in perspective can make all the difference. Instead of viewing your failures as disasters and things you should be embarrassed about, consider looking at them as valuable learning opportunities. Some of the biggest failures often also lead to the greatest successes, and by thinking positively it allows you to see the truth in this.

(If you are an entrepreneur who joins a network marketing company, sometimes this can be difficult when the company makes false promises, runs out of inventory, or eliminates the products that have been your highest selling product with the company- but hang in there- chances are if you don’t give up and if you keep a positive outlook- it will lead you to the right company or opportunity in time. It certainly did for us).

Being grateful for every experience, without judging it or judging yourself, can help you to focus on the positives of the situation. Failure can be part of the process and when if and when it does happen, embracing it and honoring yourself, rather than fighting against it can make it far more manageable…. even if the reason was not in your control!

Learn to Trust Your Instincts

One of the best recipes for a successful business is learning to trust your instincts….and I know you know that feeling! It’s that GUT feeling that you get when you clearly know something is a strong YES or a strong NO! While it is necessary to look at the facts and figures as well, using your intuition to guide you can help you to make decisions quicker and with less mental strain.

We all have an intuition; we just need to learn to train it like a muscle. Practices like meditation and stilling your mind and tuning into that inner voice can help you connect to that intuition we all have.

Many great entrepreneurs have used their intuition to make some of the most radical and life changing moves for their business. While strengthening your intuition won’t happen overnight, in time it could become one of your most valuable assets.

Feel Successful Right Now

Most entrepreneurs get caught chasing success, (I certainly have) but the reality is that success is more of a state of mind than something that is tangible. While most of us equate success to money, this is actually a false belief.

If we have the attitude of “chasing” success, we will forever find ourselves stuck in the chase. When I say to feel successful right now I don’t mean FAKE IT until you MAKE IT- I mean having that vision of success in your mind each and every day and living FROM that feeling & vision!

Even when you reach a goal or milestone, you are most likely going to simply want more and more. This is just the way the human mind is programmed, unless we can change the pattern. Instead of believing you will be successful when you reach a particular milestone, start feeling successful right now.

Focus on all the things that make you feel successful now and in turn, this will help you to create more success. When you feel successful with what you have right now, your life also becomes far more enjoyable and less about the “pursuit” and more about the ‘having'”. Practice the attitude of gratitude daily!

So, while these 4 tips may be different to the ones you are used to hearing, try applying them to your entrepreneurial tool belt and even to your life, and I believe they can help you to truly thrive on every level.
