DAY 6- Joy’s TAVALA JOURNEY

May 8th……Spring time in Vermont and a great time to release ALL things that no longer serve you.

New Beginnings– this could mean an opportunity or business. (Don’t overlook things that are presented to you or what comes your way- be open to new ideas and opportunities).

New Season– here in Vermont after a long and cold winter, people are outside, enjoying fresh air and sunshine….and health and fitness naturally becomes more of a priority for many, including myself.

Today is Day 6 of “paying attention to what I am consuming- meaning both FOOD and DRINK” and incorporating TAVALA products into my daily regime! Awareness is important! I had become sloppy about my eating habits….not eating often enough, making silly choices when I do eat and consuming alcohol every night! Now with my public commitment to “SELF”, I am loving using the TAVALA TRIM & CONTROL to address my weight loss- while also adding the other products of TAVALA : Alert, Snooze and Bru.

Things are beginning to change and shift and I attribute it to the TAVALA TRIM product (and other TAVALA products that support health, energy, blood sugar normalization and adequate sleep!).

By drinking just 1 TRIM drink each morning I no longer have the cravings, my appetite is suppressed BUT even thought I am not hungry, I still eat 3 very sensible small meals per day and 1-2 small snacks.

My water intake has quadrupled, which as most of us know, helps with weight loss, avoiding fatigue and every organ in our body works more effectively when your body is well hydrated and balanced. Day 5- Joy’s TAVALA Journey

I have to say adhering to one’s commitment is not always easy…. but I know it will be worth it. Today I had more time on my hands, visited family and friends, and honestly was tempted on several occasions to have a cold beer (especially after tennis) or a seasonal cocktail to join in with weekend celebration time…. but I did not. I kept thinking how I’d feel if I let myself down. I remember years ago when my son and I did a 10-day raw food challenge, he said “ANYONE CAN DO SOMETHING FOR 10-DAYS and if they can’t they are weak!”

I don’t want to be weak!

Today is Day 5 of taking care of myself in the TAVALA way I promised to…… and I have to say I feel more balanced and energized than I have in quite some time!!!!

This morning working around the house I tweaked my back and was so disappointed as today is a day when I wanted to catch up around the house, re-pot plants and also play tennis. So what did I do for my lower back that was tightening up and getting stiff and problematic? I opened the Mylar bag with our Quantum Relief Strips and placed a QR Strip on my lower left side of my back. I came to my computer, finished emails and by the time I had finished -say 30 min. or so, the stiffness and pain in my back was gone. The Quantum Relief Strips truly do bring energy to parts of the body that need it!

Tomorrow is Monday and although I know most people do not look forward to Mondays, I love them. New week, new possibilities and several leaders have recently joined our TAVALA business which makes it very fun and exciting.

Day 3: JOY’s TAVALA 14-Day Blitz

Imagine eating healthy, exercising, nourishing your body with good food and supplementation and staying hydrated? Obviously you’d feel better, right? Of course you would.

Well this is how I am feeling on Day 3 of my 14-Day commitment to using and enjoying all of TAVALA’s products daily.

It’s not like rock-science…..

I started out with a commitment to fit into my jeans. I’ll be honest, this started out for vanity reasons, plus I just returned to Vermont after spending time in Florida with dozens of men and women who had recently dropped 10, 20, 30, 40 and even 50 lbs. in the past several months using TAVALA TRIM. THEY motivated and inspired me! (Motivation #1)

Sure, I wanted to have more sustained energy throughout the day and have enough energy to actually WANT to work out…. but the real reason I am doing this is I want to drop 15 pounds of fat…and be a better representation of what TAVALA’s products, especially the TRIM and CONTROL, can do for your health and weight management.

Here is what 10 lbs. of fat looks like… now that is a big blob of FAT!!! I am committed to dropping 15….. yes, those stubborn 15 lbs. that crept up on me in the past 4-5 years- during “menopause” leaving me with a men-o-pot! That’s right, at least 10 of those pounds went right to my mid-section making me look either 5 months pregnant, or more pear shaped, like my mother. Yikes! (Motivation #2)

Here’s a cool thing “belly thing’ that I noticed today, on day 3, at the gym doing ‘crunchy frog’ abs exercises. I could already tell my belly was smaller as I ‘crunchy frogged’ the exercise like a jackknife…seriously! (Motivation #3)

As a personal trainer I used to tell people to stay off the scale and go by body composition and how your clothes fit…. but there is still something about those darn scales that catch many (especially women) off guard…..and have us committed to weighing a certain number on the scale….rather than by the way we look and how we feel.

Still, take a look at this visual and tell me what you think about what a 150 lb. woman looks like…..

Actually you can’t, because there are many versions of what 150 lbs. reflects.

I weighed myself day 1 and will not weight myself (I don’t think) until day 8 and then day 15. Due to being naturally muscular, I have always weighed around 10 lbs. more than people would guess so I have to remind myself that if I transform my body using TAVALA’s products, that whatever the number is in 14 days doesn’t really equate to success or failure. Dropping 10 lbs. of FAT and adding 2 lbs. of lean muscle is a pretty good goal as well.

What am I doing differently with TAVALA the products? How am I incorporating them in my daily regime?

Control before each of my main meals (3x day)

TRIM in the morning after breakfast (drink)

Consume a min. of 1/2 ounce per body weight of water daily

Exercise at 11 am, Cardio, Weight Training alternation

Alert “mist” in the afternoon for sustained energy

Healthy meals, min. of 3 small meals and 1 mid-day snack

Joy’s Day 2- TAVALA 14-Day Blitz Product Blitz

It’s amazing how much easier something can be when you are truly committed and have the right mind-set. I decided a week ago to stick to a program that includes all of our TAVALA products, and to also include proper exercise, hydration, sleep, mind-set, the whole enchiladas!!! In other words, I committed to ME and to reach a level of health that has eluded me the past several years….. a smart thing to do if you are representing HEALTH products!

I SEE MY END RESULT of dropping 15 lbs…. (which I have tried to do many times in the past several years but NOW I also BELIEVE it will happen with the TAVALA products and I am DOING what is necessary to ensure the results!)

I am not a lazy woman, I simply did not put a priority on my health (and weight gain) and although I coach people all the time on the importance of keeping the metabolism burning with 4-5 smaller meals per day (No Skipping Meals!) as well as a combination of exercise that includes both resistance (weight training) and cardio, AND adequate water intake….somehow my days would fill up and at the end of the day I had ignored doing the simply practices (yes, practices is a good word) myself.

Well, at age 60 I looked at myself, looked at others younger and older than my age and decided I was going to be the best version of myself- with no comparison to my previous self or to others. It is not easy not comparing my 60 year old body to my 30 year old self, as I was a body builder in my 30’s and a personal trainer and I thrived on a fit, lean body. Then MENOPAUSE came and turned my world upside down! But it didn’t have to be that way, I’ll take responsibility, I had become complacent in my daily habits.

I’m talking here from personal experience….the Quantum Relief Strips, from TAVALA rock! I’m quite sure I could not have accomplished what we did last weekend without them.

We moved last weekend. I have not been that active in a long time…on Friday we were busy from 5 am -8 pm and the only time I stopped was when I was in the car driving to the storage unit and to our new home.

We lifted boxes, placed them HIGH, placed them low, bent over OPENING the hundreds of boxes, and rearranged everything we had in storage since moving back from Florida, all in one sweep. For those of you have had items in storage, it can be quite a task as you unwrap items that you haven’t used for years or had totally forgot about.

That is how I process things- I don’t stop half way….I complete the task at hand- and DID, over the weekend. What surprised me the most about what we accomplished was the strength both Dave and I had during the process….and how, except for tight muscles in our back, we felt great!

What Is A Dantian? How does this relate to Quantum Relief Strips?

I came upon this great article today when looking for information on how I can explain the Dan Tian for our customers and team. This is written by Jenny Smagala, www.AwesomeSelfHealingTools.com

One question we often get is where should I place the Quantum Relief Strips? Quantum Relief Strips are a topical ‘strip’ applied to the body to bring positive energy where it is needed. Many people find relief placing it in the area of ‘imbalance’ that they can ‘feel’ but if you simply want to balance and Chi, your energy and Chakras consider placing the Quantum Relief Strip on the Dan Tian. (I have always spelled it like this however as you’ll read below, there are several other spellings on the word.) The Quantum Relief Strips are created by a prominent South Korean doctor and his 5th generation, what we have with TAVALA, is an upgrade from other previous strips.

Dan Tian?

Is it the same as a chakra? How many dantians are there? Is one more important than the others?

Read on to find out.
The word, dantian, (pronounced dahn-tee-ahn) is a transliteration of the Chinese word for the three special energy centres in the body, where chi (qi) is stored. It can also be written as dantien, dan tian, dan tien, or tan t’ien. It is a Taoist concept, often used in Traditional Chinese Medicine, meditation, martial arts, qigong and tai chi.

Dan tien literally means red field, which doesn’t tell you much about what it is.

Dan means red or cinnabar (a bright red-orange colour), and tien or tian means a paddy field or a field containing “treasures” to be mined. In other words, the tien field is a source of nourishment or energy.

This is why the loose translations of: “sea of chi”, “elixir field” or energy centre, make more sense to most people.

I call them chi-batteries, simply because they store your vital life force, and they can be depleted and “recharged” like batteries can.

TCM teaches that your power or chi is stored in your body in three main energy centres, referred to as your upper, middle and lower dantians.

Are They The Same As Chakras?

Probably not. Dantians are similar to the Indian Yoga concept of chakras, but there is one important difference. Unlike dantians, chakras do NOT STORE energy, but rather act as a gateway or vortex, for energy to flow in and out of the body.

Qigong And Dantians

One of the main aims of qigong is to increase the capacity of your chi-batteries to store your vital life force. Having fully charged dantian batteries means that you always have power to get you through the stressful times and to assist your self healing.

The Three Dantians

1. Your Lower Dantian

The lower dan tien (Xia Dantian or Shen Guan) is considered to be the major powerhouse, or battery, for storing chi. It has been described as the “golden stove”. It is situated in your lower belly, two-fingers-width behind the navel and three-fingers-width below it.

The lower dantian is the prime focal point for qigong exercise and meditation practice; and the seat of power, vital essence and sexual energy.

Your lower dan tian is similar to your sacral or pelvic chakra.

2. Your Middle Dantian

The middle dan tien (Zhong Dantian or Tan Zhong) is behind your breast bone, at the level of your heart.

It is associated with love, kindness and compassion; and with the health of your internal organs, especially the heart, lungs and the thymus gland.

Your middle dan tian is similar to your heart chakra.

3. Your Upper Dantian

The upper dan tien (Shang Dantian or Yin Tang) is above the bridge of your nose, behind your forehead, in the region referred to as your third eye.

It is associated with your pineal gland, intuition, higher consciousness, and the spiritual aspect of qigong, such as connecting to the emptiness, or unlimited field of chi around you.

Your upper dan tian is similar to your third eye chakra.

Is One Dantian More Important Than The Others?

Dantian power meditation | balancing the chiIt is commonly taught with qigong that energy should be stored mostly in the lower dantian. Some masters say there is a risk involved with trying to pack chi into the middle and upper dantians.

I wonder if this is largely because of the idea that the lower dan tien is the seat of power and sexual energy. It is therefore of prime importance regarding physical survival of an individual, and mankind as a species. Keeping this “battery” topped up would therefore be strongly advised.

Maybe it has to do with the fear of overloading the circuits, if too much energy is funneled into the upper or middle dan tian. This is probably an individual concern more than a general one. Some people are naturally open-hearted, and open-minded.

Admittedly, history teaches us that it’s dangerous to live from your heart and soul perspective, but this is changing. People are moving beyond pure survival, and logic, into the energy of their hearts. You wouldn’t be reading this if you didn’t have a desire to expand your own heart and spirit.

Personally, I don’t agree with the limitation of only energising the lower dan tian. It is my intention to balance body, heart and spirit, and to give an equal dose of vital life force to all areas of my being. I’ve never had any negative results from directing energy to all three of my dantians during my daily qigong practice.

I am not a qigong master, but as a reiki practitioner and light-body worker, I’ve worked with energy for much of my adult life. This is possibly why the practice of energising all three dantians, is safe for me. However, you will need to decide what is right for you.

Summary

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, you have three important storage areas for your vital life force, that you can call on for self healing and for general well-being. They are called your Upper, Middle and Lower Dantians.

You may like to visualise a dantian as a sea of chi, an elixir field, an energy centre, or a chi-battery. Whatever concept you prefer for the dan tien, it is good to know that you can do simple qigong exercises to increase your ability to store chi. OR as I add, place a Quantum Relief Strip in any-or all of the DanTian areas listed in this article.

Meet our friend Bruce Gerstein,

a.k.a. “The Wandering Jew”

You know when you meet someone you instantly feel blessed to meet them? That is what I love about networking in general, had it not been from our dear friend Patrica, I am quite sure our paths would not have crossed with Bruce Gerstein.

Bruce has an infectious smile and laugh that will captivate your heart. We had spoken with Bruce by phone for close to a year before meeting him in person at our home in Vero Beach, Florida. His contribution to a potluck meal after a ‘Saturday Training’ was a huge Ice Cream cake which he generously left behind for US to feast on…. of course it would have melted on his 2+ hour drive back home….and we were trying to lose weight but this cake has now become our family Birthday Cake of choice. Thanks Bruce.

Bruce is known by many of his friends around the world as the “Wandering Jew” as he travels more than anyone I know, unless they are a flight attendant or pilot! We never know where Bruce has recently landed until we see his pictures on Facebook, with his friends -hanging out and having a good time- of all colors/nationalities.

One thing Bruce recently told us is he loves traveling the world and spreading “HAPPY”…and he does!Bruce has found a way to make friends and bring HAPPINESS & JOY to their lives. In addition, in the several years we have known Bruce he has shared product in his travels, products that have a true impact on the lives of people he cares about.

Building a Network Marketing team on the ‘fly’ is one way of expanding ones network and Bruce is currently building his Tavala business- all remotely, by phone and computer…. when he is overseas, he makes sure ample product is shipped to us so that we can send free samples to those he reaches out to while traveling.
