Day 7- Joy’s TAVALA JOURNEY- fat is melting & my metabolism is in high gear!

OK, so today is day 7 which means I have had a week to get used to good habits for health.

It has nothing to do with a diet.

I made a decision to put myself first and to honor my body the way I tell others to. To work out because you DESERVE to, not because you have to.

To hydrate your body because it is healthy for each and every organ in your body, including your largest organ- your skin.

I always knew this decade was going to be a very special one but had no idea why. I speculated that it would be the time when I was truly on my “LIFE PATH” and doing what I was brought to this lifetime to do and create. I feel that to be true.

Entering my 30’s I decided to enter a body building competition, JUST to PROVE to myself, that a young mom with 2 kids could still commit to oneself, take time for oneself and stick to something that took discipline and drive for excellence. I did- and I actually won!

Entering my 40’s …. nothing much stands out except I was ‘my own boss’, self-employed and a workaholic. I enjoyed some good times but they were a blur as I was often to exhausted to stop and ‘smell the flowers’. Even though I was my ‘own boss’ I missed out on many things with my kids during their jr. high and high school years because of my priorities.

AHHH, my 50’s. I met my soul-mate just before turning 50. Dave was about to turn 50 as well and this decade was full of new beginnings and fun. Often times when one is newly married healthy habits, like diet and exercise, become a little less important and a couple of years into our relationship we had both packed on a couple of pounds. (more than a couple!) Luckily with a DVD program called P90X, we turned that around…for several years.

Now you may ask WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH TAVALA AND YOUR 14-DAY CHALLENGE?

Well, at age 60 I hope we have become a little wiser and will commit and stick to doing things for US, rather than for other people.

Inspired by many people on our team, (members and customers) I was so impressed with their weight loss results using the TAVALA TRIM that I decided it was time for ME to drop the 15 lbs. of blubber that has accumulated on my body since menopause.

My goal was for weight loss for sure, but moreso for overall health, energy, vitality and to slow down the aging process. Day 7 is today and using all the TAVALA products (TRIM for weight loss and energy, CONTROL for weight loss and controlling blood sugar), QUANTUM RELIEF STRIPS (balance the chi, energy in the body and keep from getting sore with my new fitness regime) ALERT (afternoon ‘mist’ for energy) SNOOZE (before bed for deep, restful sleep) and BRU, for an evening ‘drink’ vs a glass of wine or cocktail, or two.

My first born granddaughter, Kamaria Joy is now 9. Her mom, my daughter, Kori is 25 years older than she is, then there is me, 25 years older than my daughter…and then there is my mother, Dorothy 25 years older than myself. On my mothers 85th Birthday celebration I looked around and made the decision to take extremely good care of my body (IE MY TEMPLE) so that I age gracefully.

Although my mom has been active and healthy most of her adult life, I want to be able to travel, contribute in life when I am well into my 80s and even 90s. Good genes alone won’t always carry one to aging gracefully. So thanks, Mom, for a glimpse into what I could be like at age 85!

DAY 6- Joy’s TAVALA JOURNEY

May 8th……Spring time in Vermont and a great time to release ALL things that no longer serve you.

New Beginnings– this could mean an opportunity or business. (Don’t overlook things that are presented to you or what comes your way- be open to new ideas and opportunities).

New Season– here in Vermont after a long and cold winter, people are outside, enjoying fresh air and sunshine….and health and fitness naturally becomes more of a priority for many, including myself.

Today is Day 6 of “paying attention to what I am consuming- meaning both FOOD and DRINK” and incorporating TAVALA products into my daily regime! Awareness is important! I had become sloppy about my eating habits….not eating often enough, making silly choices when I do eat and consuming alcohol every night! Now with my public commitment to “SELF”, I am loving using the TAVALA TRIM & CONTROL to address my weight loss- while also adding the other products of TAVALA : Alert, Snooze and Bru.

Things are beginning to change and shift and I attribute it to the TAVALA TRIM product (and other TAVALA products that support health, energy, blood sugar normalization and adequate sleep!).

By drinking just 1 TRIM drink each morning I no longer have the cravings, my appetite is suppressed BUT even thought I am not hungry, I still eat 3 very sensible small meals per day and 1-2 small snacks.

My water intake has quadrupled, which as most of us know, helps with weight loss, avoiding fatigue and every organ in our body works more effectively when your body is well hydrated and balanced. Drinking 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water (we use water from our Kangen machine) will help with overall health.

I must say that I can not discount the Quantum Relief Strips. I have been using them daily, changing the strips (and often the location) every 48 hours. Day 5- Joy’s TAVALA Journey

I have to say adhering to one’s commitment is not always easy…. but I know it will be worth it. Today I had more time on my hands, visited family and friends, and honestly was tempted on several occasions to have a cold beer (especially after tennis) or a seasonal cocktail to join in with weekend celebration time…. but I did not. I kept thinking how I’d feel if I let myself down. I remember years ago when my son and I did a 10-day raw food challenge, he said “ANYONE CAN DO SOMETHING FOR 10-DAYS and if they can’t they are weak!”

I don’t want to be weak!

Today is Day 5 of taking care of myself in the TAVALA way I promised to…… and I have to say I feel more balanced and energized than I have in quite some time!!!!

This morning working around the house I tweaked my back and was so disappointed as today is a day when I wanted to catch up around the house, re-pot plants and also play tennis. So what did I do for my lower back that was tightening up and getting stiff and problematic? I opened the Mylar bag with our Quantum Relief Strips and placed a QR Strip on my lower left side of my back. I came to my computer, finished emails and by the time I had finished -say 30 min. or so, the stiffness and pain in my back was gone. The Quantum Relief Strips truly do bring energy to parts of the body that need it!

Tomorrow is Monday and although I know most people do not look forward to Mondays, I love them. New week, new possibilities and several leaders have recently joined our TAVALA business which makes it very fun and exciting.

My motivation at the end of 14-days of using TAVALA products daily, consuming no alcohol, eating 4-5 small meals per day, drinking plenty of water, and exercising daily is at the end I’ll have MY STORY!!!! Day 4- Joy’s TAVALA Journey

Today is Saturday, May 6th.

Hurrah, I made it through Cinco de Mayo and a Friday night without having a cocktail or two, and blowing my 14-day TAVALA BLITZ.

I just knew I could do it!!!!! (Success of any kind begins in the mind, right?)

Just so you know, alcohol is not bad or forbidden if you want to lose weight on the TAVALA TRIM Plan…. it just makes ME care less about my health habits and become more sloppy in my choices. As a result I am steering clear for 14 days….just to get the best TAVALA results and to ‘say I did it!’

Exercise

Many people have asked me if it is necessary to exercise while using the TAVALA TRIM or other products for optimum weight loss. I’ll answer this in 2 ways. MANY, if not most of the people who initially had fantastic results with the TAVALA TRIM (some losing 10-15 lbs. in their first week or two)…..THEY SWEAR they did nothing else different except add the TRIM to their daily, morning, regime.

I personally know these people and I believe them….!!!!

The TRIM will suppress your appetite and cravings and for some people, just the reduction in food consumption and healthier choices can help you drop unwanted pounds….or help you stay away from fast foods, artificial foods and junk foods/sodas etc.

By the way, for those of you who enjoy a KETOGENIC diet, a friend shared a photo with me yesterday of him holding his “keto-strips”, you know the Pee-Sticks that tell if you are in nutritional ketosis? He was amazed that by using the TAVALA TRIM product he WAS IN KETOSIS!!! WOW! Breaking News!!!!

Now, my second answer is this question on Exercise: Exercise is not only good for you, it is the most underutilized antidepressant.

Change your outlook on exercise from something you NEED to do, to something you DESERVE to do……

Although exercise is good for your overall sense of well-being, it is also important to get adequate rest (and sleep) and to give your muscles time to rest in between workouts, with weight training in particular.

Today is Saturday and it is my REST day… but it may still involve a 20 min. walk around the block because it feels good to be outside and to take in fresh air and sunshine.

It’s all in how you view things.

This week I have honestly looked forward to each and every meal, whereas usually I view meal preparation and eating as just something I ‘have to do’.

I have committed to take CONTROL before my 3 main meals of the day and I honestly feel more ‘stable’ and balanced….probably because the CONTROL balances and normalizes blood sugar levels.

Day 3: JOY’s TAVALA 14-Day Blitz

Imagine eating healthy, exercising, nourishing your body with good food and supplementation and staying hydrated? Obviously you’d feel better, right? Of course you would.

Well this is how I am feeling on Day 3 of my 14-Day commitment to using and enjoying all of TAVALA’s products daily.

It’s not like rock-science…..

I started out with a commitment to fit into my jeans. I’ll be honest, this started out for vanity reasons, plus I just returned to Vermont after spending time in Florida with dozens of men and women who had recently dropped 10, 20, 30, 40 and even 50 lbs. in the past several months using TAVALA TRIM. THEY motivated and inspired me! (Motivation #1)

Sure, I wanted to have more sustained energy throughout the day and have enough energy to actually WANT to work out…. but the real reason I am doing this is I want to drop 15 pounds of fat…and be a better representation of what TAVALA’s products, especially the TRIM and CONTROL, can do for your health and weight management.

Here is what 10 lbs. of fat looks like… now that is a big blob of FAT!!! I am committed to dropping 15….. yes, those stubborn 15 lbs. that crept up on me in the past 4-5 years- during “menopause” leaving me with a men-o-pot! That’s right, at least 10 of those pounds went right to my mid-section making me look either 5 months pregnant, or more pear shaped, like my mother. Yikes! (Motivation #2)

Here’s a cool thing “belly thing’ that I noticed today, on day 3, at the gym doing ‘crunchy frog’ abs exercises. I could already tell my belly was smaller as I ‘crunchy frogged’ the exercise like a jackknife…seriously! (Motivation #3)

As a personal trainer I used to tell people to stay off the scale and go by body composition and how your clothes fit…. but there is still something about those darn scales that catch many (especially women) off guard…..and have us committed to weighing a certain number on the scale….rather than by the way we look and how we feel.

Still, take a look at this visual and tell me what you think about what a 150 lb. woman looks like…..

Actually you can’t, because there are many versions of what 150 lbs. reflects.

I weighed myself day 1 and will not weight myself (I don’t think) until day 8 and then day 15. Due to being naturally muscular, I have always weighed around 10 lbs. more than people would guess so I have to remind myself that if I transform my body using TAVALA’s products, that whatever the number is in 14 days doesn’t really equate to success or failure. Dropping 10 lbs. of FAT and adding 2 lbs. of lean muscle is a pretty good goal as well.

What am I doing differently with TAVALA the products? How am I incorporating them in my daily regime?

Joy’s Day 2- TAVALA 14-Day Blitz Product Blitz

It’s amazing how much easier something can be when you are truly committed and have the right mind-set. I decided a week ago to stick to a program that includes all of our TAVALA products, and to also include proper exercise, hydration, sleep, mind-set, the whole enchiladas!!! In other words, I committed to ME and to reach a level of health that has eluded me the past several years….. a smart thing to do if you are representing HEALTH products!

I SEE MY END RESULT of dropping 15 lbs…. (which I have tried to do many times in the past several years but NOW I also BELIEVE it will happen with the TAVALA products and I am DOING what is necessary to ensure the results!)

I am not a lazy woman, I simply did not put a priority on my health (and weight gain) and although I coach people all the time on the importance of keeping the metabolism burning with 4-5 smaller meals per day (No Skipping Meals!) as well as a combination of exercise that includes both resistance (weight training) and cardio, AND adequate water intake….somehow my days would fill up and at the end of the day I had ignored doing the simply practices (yes, practices is a good word) myself.

Well, at age 60 I looked at myself, looked at others younger and older than my age and decided I was going to be the best version of myself- with no comparison to my previous self or to others. It is not easy not comparing my 60 year old body to my 30 year old self, as I was a body builder in my 30’s and a personal trainer and I thrived on a fit, lean body. Then MENOPAUSE came and turned my world upside down! But it didn’t have to be that way, I’ll take responsibility, I had become complacent in my daily habits.

Joy’s Day 1 TAVALA 14-Day Blitz

My main motivation, to be perfectly honest, is to TRANSFORM my body like hundreds of my friends have, who have been using the TAVALA TRIM on a consistent basis. That means losing weight (goal of 15 lbs.) and inches, especially around my ‘men-o-pot’, aka waist line.

In addition to weight loss, another motivation is to get on a regular schedule of proper eating, 4-5 small meals per day (vs. my regular 2-3 meals per day) and begin to exercise on a regular basis (3 weight training per week, 3 cardio-min. per week) and staying hydrated. As a former Personal Trainer and Transformational Life Coach, I used to TEACH this and not sure why, stopped following my own advice over this past winter.

Today I did something that I rarely do- and that is to step on the scale. Normally I’d be quite freaked out, but since I have a plan- TAVALA TRIM for starters, it was good to know where I am starting….and it’s just a number! (I also measured myself and set those numbers aside until day 15 when I will make comparisons).

I also took a couple of ‘before pics’ and yes this took courage to post as my belly has never been so ‘full and fat. However rather than getting upset, I am using these pictures as a motivation!

How does this differ from my normal days?

Well, for starters I usually don’t have my breakfast until around 10 am or even later, so my metabolism usually has not kicked in like when you eat BREAKFAST early in the day. Breakfast, literally means ‘break the fast’ as when we sleep our metabolism typically slows down during sleep.

I have now added CONTROL before meals, 3 times per day!

WATER- wow, I realize without conscious thought, I bet I only drink 3-4 (tops) glasses of water per day. I have committed to drinking 1/2 of my weight in ounces of water….and today, due to being hydrated, I felt I had more energy.

Meals, 3 meals per day and a couple of smaller snacks. TRIM really does curb the appetite and in the past I have LOVED that I haven’t had the urge or interest to eat, so I wouldn’t. BAD NEWS when you are looking to burn fat. If you skip a meal, your metabolism will slow down to conserve energy as you are actually putting it in a starvation mode. I know all this and I teach all of this, but now I am committed to being MY BEST STUDENT!

Last but not least, I think one of the most dramatic things I have committed to doing is consume ZERO Alcohol. I’m not saying alcohol is bad- I love my chardonnay and cocktails- too much- and know intellectually that it is keeping me ‘fat’. I have been lean most of my life, and menopause crept upon me and my ‘shape’ has changed- and I feel like I am in a foreign body.
