In September 2016 Dave and I were attending a LIVE YOUR BLISS WORKSHOP with Richard Bliss Brooke who authored the books “Four Year Career” and ‘Mach2 with Your Hair on Fire’, two best selling books in the network marketing industry.

We were talking with Richard about the industry of network marketing and how there is a HUGE market with thousands of people who are “IN BETWEEN” mlm companies. In other words, they believe in the industry, have left their former mlm company and are looking…or are still hanging in there with their current company but one foot is out the door looking for something more suitable for their goals. In Between.

We agreed it is a huge market!

Richard mentioned the phrase MLM Tweeners and we laughed and realized that it really is a huge group of people….our kind of people. (We actually purchased the domain, www.mlmTweeners.com)

Entrepreneurial people who joined the industry for the ‘reason’ of creating residual income, perhaps even generational wealth, or maybe it was to earn a little extra income for an enhanced lifestyle for them and their families. Or perhaps they joined the industry for the time freedom that the industry can provide.

WE WERE ‘MLM TWEENERS’ not long ago!

In fact, prior to finding our current company, TAVALA, we had been with another company for ten years and based on the direction of our company and our paycheck, knew we needed to make a change.

Financially we were drowning! What was once financially great was dwindling ….and dwindling fast. We couldn’t recruit fast enough to equal the people leaving our company and team and we were at a place where we also had lost faith or trust in the direction and leadership of the company.

Although we weren’t actively searching for another opportunity, one FOUND US, and with some soul searching and a lot of honest conversation with the owners and corporate staff, we decided we would resign from our current companies (yes, leaving checks behind!) and delve 100% in with TAVALA.

I believe in order to attain AND sustain the financial goals that Dave and I have we knew we NEEDED to be 100% in, not dabbling, not part-time, and certainly not working two opportunities at the same time.

We’ve never seen that work and the one time we did ‘straddle two companies’ (One working with Richard Bliss Brooke July-Dec. 2016) and the other our former company, Jan. 2006-Dec. 2016) it felt almost fraudulent and we also had to be sensitive when marketing as not to ‘offend’ either company by mentioning the other products or services. It certainly wasn’t a comfortable place to be professionally or as a leader with a team.

Last night I Googled the term MLM TWEENER and there was no such ‘term’ however “TWEENER” IS a word: “a person or thing considered to be between two other recognized categories or types. or, “Price considered him a tweener, too small for a lineman and too big for a linebacker”.

Many people have asked Dave and I why we left a company we had been with for over 10 years and why we chose Tavala.

Anyone who knows us knows we are very dedicated once we make a decision to do anything, and joining and working with a network marketing company is one of those things we take seriously.

I’m truly a believer in the TRIM drink from Tavala & the Quantum Relief Strips.

I have witnessed hundreds of friends and customers totally change & enhance their bodies and experience weight loss transformations that will blow your mind!

So….when I began Bikram Yoga why didn’t I add the TRIM to my workout regime from day 1?

I had NO idea what to expect, and was afraid to add the TRIM, an energy drink/stimulant….so I went without at first. I decided that I’d stick with good old fashion water and see how I can handle my new workout routing….AKA Bikram Yoga….without any supplementation.

I get a weekly newsletter from Hippocrates Health Institute and often embrace many of their suggestions. I admire Dr. Brian Clement (director of HHI) who wrote this article and thought this topic was worth sharing as we, with TAVALA, are now talking to a lot of people who have gained weight this summer and either want to BEGIN TAVALA TRIM or Get Back On the TRIM!

During the summer months people often find how surprisingly easy it is to gain weight, but why is this so? The three leading reasons why it can be easier to gain weight in summer than winter are:

Overheating and moving less
Exposure to extreme heat can cause you to lose your stamina and become less active. Just moving a little may cause your body to overheat and you start thinking, “maybe it’s a good time to take a break about now.” This sort of movement lowers your physical activity level starts to add up over time in terms of the number of calories you burn daily throughout the summer.

Slower metabolism
Unlike in winter when your core temperature is lower the body reacts to speed up the metabolism; in summer the opposite is the case. The higher body temperature results in a slower metabolism and thus fewer calories are burnt.

It’s not hard to find yourself eating summer high calorie foods in the battle against the heat, like ice cream and cool sodas. Before you know it those extra calories are beginning to appear as additional inches around your waist.

I get weekly emails from www.Goalcast.com that are inspirational and often times I use bits and pieces in Facebook posts or in conversations.

“Did you know that your brain believes what it hears on a regular basis? This is true especially if you say it out loud or even under your breath multiple times a day. If you say “I can’t do that,” your brain believes you and makes it come to pass in some area of your life.

As we begin to look at the way we are talking to ourselves, our beliefs start to change. The words that are red flags in our minds are things like: never, hate, won’t, can’t, and even always.

If we tell ourselves things in absolutes, we start to believe them… even if they aren’t true.

Shifting from Can’t to Can: 8 Practices to Put in Place Right Now

You can only lose what you cling to. – Buddha

I want you to think of an area where you are selling yourself short right now. Where do you tell yourself you can’t achieve a goal that would really make a difference in your life? Breathe. Pause. Reflect. I want you to visualize the negative words as balloons and you are now releasing them to the sky.

I am going to show you eight practices that you can put in place right now that will really help you make that shift from can’t to can. All you need to do is believe.

Become an observer of your thoughts. I get it. It’s a tough time, but before you share someone’s opinion or post a status using the words in absolutes, think about if you believe it. You are reinforcing an absolute behavior.
Instead of letting your thoughts and emotions run away with you, start to observe if what you are telling yourself is even true, and whether it is yours. Is it old karmic nonsense that you just have on autopilot playing in your head? Was it passed down?
Change your morning routine to include a positive affirmation: I am healing. I am living a life filled with abundance. You get to be in charge of the positives here.
Remember Winnie the Pooh? How Eeyore acted? Be an observer not only of your thoughts, but of what energy you are putting out there. Are you attracting more negative?
Appreciate the good in your life and celebrate the achievements. Small steps are better than none taken. As Mother Teresa said: “Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.”
I am a big believer in the science of brain-based healing. Studies have shown that thoughts alone can actually improve vision, fitness and strength. Brain chemistry and circuitry are constantly being re-wired as we shift to better thoughts.
When people consciously practice gratitude, they get a surge of rewarding neurotransmitters, like dopamine, and experience more illumination of the mind. If you don’t believe me, practice a gratitude ritual for 30 days and see how your life has changed in that time. It really changes your stress level.
I have seen epigenetics work in my own life. That means I am speaking to my genes with every thought I have. This is the part that might seem crazy, but the truth is that your biology doesn’t give you a reason to give up the fight. Epigenetics is showing that you really can change the way your body reacts and responds. Essentially, how genes are read by cells is actually changed by who you interact with and how you think and respond to life. It’s pretty powerful research.”

OK…. now a question may be “How do you apply this to YOUR life”?

When I first read this article all I could relate it to was my recent activity I just began. Bikram Yoga. Today is day 15…..15 classes in 15 days. Imagine that? When I first reviewed my Beginner’s Bikram book I literally panicked and my self-talk was very damaging. Phrases like you can’t do that, you won’t be able to, what are you crazy? etc. flooded my brain as well as flew out of my mouth. I had to apply some of the principles above….and each day I began to believe in my abilities over my initial self talk. One day at a time!

Sometimes in business I feel my goals are very ‘aggressive’. The goals and numbers often seem impossible to reach as well as the income projections we strive to reach sometimes seem inobtainable- but once again I tell myself- “many people have reached those goals- so why not me? Yes, you can do it too!”

As for our business with TAVALA and products we represent it is interesting that I did a poll not long ago with a group that I called my “test case”. Those that received the best results with our flagship product TAVALA TRIM were those who went into their daily usage with a positive mind and without skepticism. They believed the TRIM would work and they were open to the changes. Those who were what I call “Debbie Doubters…or Debbie Downers” fit into another category. They got mediocre results in comparison to the positive minded group and many claimed they just could not get themselves to remember to drink the one ‘thermogenic’ drink daily.

I LOVE doing my own random ‘test cases’ around a product. It’s a great way to compare notes and to assess if, for the average person, the product actually delivers what it claims to deliver. I decided to do this with Tavala’s flagship product called TRIM.
