You never know exactly where life will take you. In 2007, our lives took a turn we certainly did not foresee.
I woke up one spring morning and discovered my husband had a massive hemorrhagic stroke sometime in the middle of the night. His body already suffering the stereotypical signs of stroke– from that moment on, our lives would never be the same.
We aren’t the only ones to suffer catastrophic events . . . many have life shaking/life shaping events . . . divorce, sick child, death of a loved one, chronic illness and pain, etc. (Forgive me if I missed your issue because they are all significant ramifications for the family.)
For us, we immediately went from two incomes to NONE. I was now a full-time caregiver and he was my patient. How quickly the relationship changes when he can no longer speak, understand what I say or walk.
We were in our 50’s when this happened. When I look back, I say, “If only we had planned for lives differently.” Health wise, my husband had done all the right things. The stroke had really come out of nowhere.
But financially, we had not prepared to stop working so early in life. We had some savings but of course, not enough to live the next 30 years, Lord willing.
What I’m doing now, working with Tavala, a home based business, had I hypothetically, started in my 20’s or 30’s or just about ANYTIME before our family was ALL IN with catastrophic illness, my business would have continued to grow even while I was caring for my ill husband.
A friend of mine in a similar Direct Sales company just lost his wife. She was very ill this last year but his business was already strong enough that it continued to grow while he took off caring for his wife and family. Now he is back in, where the family of his business welcomed him with open arms! (With Tavala, and time freedom, I now have more time to help out in my community- like in this picture)
That is what we have here at Tavala. A family of friends who will stand by you, help you, support you . . . whatever you want or need in your business. You have heard the old adage; “You are in business for yourself, but not by yourself.”
As for me, I work as much as I can, as yes; I am still a caregiver, 10 years later! And I can work solely from my Smart Phone and never have to leave the house if I didn’t want to.
If you work full-time, you can fit in working with Tavala in little cracks of your day. At your kids’ sports, dance, Mommy & Me . . .. “Hey would you like to try this new product that I just love?”
