I recently had a conversation with a dear friend who was a part of the same MLM company as I was for years. One thing many people do is to blame ourselves for either not reaching the success that we were looking for, but in this case it was for staying with the company WAY TOO LONG. (Have YOU ever stayed with a company for months or even years longer than you should have? Hind-sight is great, isn’t it?) We laughed at how we could be so gullible- (or I believe she said stupid!) but we were ‘drugged’ by trusting everything we heard. When the CEO or president or corporate staff talked about a new product or direction and how it would benefit everyone, we simply shared that excitement and believed it 100%. Until one day, we ‘woke’ up and could no longer do it any longer! “Yes, we were drinking the Company Kool-Aid.”
This friend of mine had begun earning $10K a month within 6 months of joining our old company (and mind you, was very excited with that success) and then little by little, month after month, decision after ‘company decision’, and then year after year, things went downhill and dwindled…. so much so that she was close to bankrupt and her friends had stopped believing whatever she said in relation to her business and this company. She gave up on network marketing at that time!
…and this is the sad part, she (and others) had begun to believe network marketing is not for her (or them) and had ‘written it off’ as something they were no longer interested in pursuing. They felt ‘beat up’ and down in the dumps.
Most of us got into this industry for the long term residual income…..and to build generational wealth by doing something ‘right’ the first time and getting paid over and over and over again!
I am always SAD when people give up on the industry because of a ‘bad experience’ or when it was the company and their change of direction/decisions made it close to impossible for long term success.
Finally ‘she’ stopped drinking the “company Kool-Aid” and “pulled her head out of the sand”… and found a company that is ethical, predictable, honest and ‘real’ with no over-exaggerations or promises in the distant future. A company that doesn’t pre-sell, promote or even talk about a product until it is on the shelf in the warehouse.
Congratulations to “her” (no names here) and to all of us who have had the courage to move on and still believe in the industry of network marketing.

Leaving a company can be like an “MLM DIVORCE” and is not easy….especially if you have been there for years and actually adored and even loved the people at the corporate ‘helm’ and the people on your team.
Before thinking of giving up on the industry of network marketing look at why you started…. and don’t give up on those dreams. Trust again….Believe in the industry and in yourself!!!!!
