My First Tennis Lesson in over 45 years!

Today was Day 1 of taking tennis lessons- or I should say, agreeing to take A (meaning 1) LESSON. I have to say, at age 60 I was surprised I was a little anxious as I haven’t had ‘any formal lessons of any sort’ in decades- especially tennis. I did take tennis lessons when I 13 or 14 years old, but that is it.

Then 4 summers ago, while living in Stowe, Vermont and having tennis courts right outside our condo, we began to hitting the tennis balls around and actually played some games…. In the process both Dave and I fell in love with the exercise it offered us and a chance to do something different than we had in years.

Today I prepared as I always do, before playing tennis or any exercise. I had a light breakfast and then I put on my tennis “skort” and matching top/matching visor. Do not be fooled by the professional looking matching attire, the ‘skort’ is the only thing I have that is white and has pockets…and the top just happens to be the color of the design/line on the side of the skort.

Both Dave and I decided recently that we were going to make a list of our top 50 things we want to do in the next 5 years and decided today, that we were going to pursue whatever showed up in front of us. As soon as we made this decision, we got a phone call from Tommy and 2 hours later were playing tennis.

Who knows what else we’ll be trying that has been on our ‘bucket list’ for some time…. but is it fun to stretch oneself, learn new skills and have fun at the same time. One thing I am 100% committed to is staying active and healthy my entire life. Tennis is one thing we will be able to play at ages 70 and 80, even if we can’t move as fast.

Who knows what else we’ll be taking up or improving in the next several months? Learning Pickle Ball? Learning how to effectively paddle board on the lake? Perhaps even continuing to double our Tavala Team volume monthly? Be earning $20K or more per month in a month or two? (that would be by month 8 or 9!) Don’t be fooled to believe it is not possible. The other day I stumbled upon something that made me LAUGH OUT LOUD and it was the word SHMEC! It was actually a video on Facebook with women talking about different health & body issues they were experiencing when someone suggested that perhaps their “SHMEC was out of check.”

Meet Leila Maddela, who lives on the beautiful island of Maui, Hawaii. We have known Leila since 2012, meeting her only by phone -loving her professionalism and energy as a leader….so when we joined Tavala and had samples to distribute we immediately thought of her!

I want to say “thank you” from the bottom of my heart, to everybody who’s supporting and joining me on this journey. It’s amazing how quickly your life can change in two weeks. I have been praying for months now on so many different things (family, relationships, business, finances, life, friends, purpose) and in a moment’s time, God has answered my prayers. I give all glory and honor to Him! This is only the beginning of this journey.

I was introduced to Tavala Trim in June, 2017 by Jared who owns PBC Boot Camp. He knew how hard hard I work out but was unable to budge my weight no matter what I did. Dieting -or more exercise, nothing shifted my body fat percentage or the scale.

One Day 1: I weighed 153.6 lbs. and less than 2 weeks later, on Day 13: I weighed 145.2 lbs. I did nothing different other than drink 1 TRIM drink a day.
