Is this YOU in this picture?

Are you having a tough time with menopause? If so I can relate.

I remember since the age of around 30 joking that I looked forward to ‘menopause’ because I’ll finally be WARM, especially in the winter. (Yes, living in Vermont can make you delusional, especially in the winters!)

What was I thinking?

I also remember when I was in my 30’s and sporting a 6-pack set of abs and looking ‘killer’ in my workout bras and midriff shirts that my mother (who says Mothers know best?) warned me I’d better stop getting used to a small waist as things would change when I go through menopause. Really? I didn’t believe her and told her so!!!! …”that may be true for the average woman. but sure not for me!”

But time marched on and guess what??? At age 54 my mother WAS right. It seemed like overnight, perhaps because I was in denial and my yoga pants still fit due to the very forgiving waist band!!!! But all of a sudden I began experiencing hot-flashes (not the warm and toasty heat flashes I had once dreamed about and looked forward to) .

Luckily there are some things that can assist you in going through this normal change in life, but there are also suggestions that made NO SENSE TO ME, because I didn’t want to believe in them!

For instance: Eliminate coffee, limit chocolate and wine and you’ll feel better and have less ‘flashes’. Ha! That may be true but life sure would be boring!!!! and so the ‘hot flashes continued’….and then one day someone shared a ‘quantum strip with me”.

What a blessing TAVALA has been for our lives! When I mentioned that today to a friend they asked me IN WHAT WAYS? So as I began to think back, I thought I’d document it as our lives have been enhanced in SO many ways since joining, it really blows my mind. AND….we are just getting started!

We said YES to joining TAVALA back in December …. after hearing what the company has to offer both LEADERS and “Newbies” in the industry of Network Marketing. We weren’t ‘looking’ but we sure were desperate to find something that would work….as our previous business was dead….and losing ground weekly!

Immediately we noticed TAVALA was different than any other company we had looked at (GOOD!) and we loved their approach and vision for the future.

I’m generally a PRODUCT-PERSON and the TAVALA TRIM immediately caught our attention -plus we knew Dr. Min Soo Kim’s newest version of strips called the Quantum Relief Strips were going to be exclusively available through TAVALA. The industry of Network Marketing attracts people of all ages- from 18 to those who are already retired. This is one ‘business’ that is truly a level playing field and doesn’t require being a certain age, or having experience or a certain educational background, being a certain gender or possessing wealth to get started. The only thing a person needs is a true desire to go after what it is that they want in life, and be focused and dedicated to the process of sharing the products and opportunity of the company they are affiliated with…..(and here’s the key) to share with those who are interested and ready. One of the largest segments of population who are joining network marketing companies are the BABY BOOMERS!

Perhaps because we just turned 60 we are noticing a lot of people who are ‘baby boomers’ are digging in deeper than ever with their desire to create a lasting lifestyle at this stage in life. There are many reasons and we’ve had some great conversations with many ‘boomers’ in the past several months. Many of us are wanting to travel to places while we are physically capable and have the energy!

A survey last year by the Insured Retirement Institute found that 40% of baby boomers have nothing saved for retirement. And a Gallup poll revealed that nearly four in 10 Americans believe they’ll work beyond the official retirement age of 65.

A pretty grim retirement picture, right?

As I began thinking more and more about baby boomers in network marketing I stumbled upon several articles that I thought had useful information.

One of the biggest trends today comes from Network Marketing Baby Boomers. The Baby Boomers desire for health and longer living is on the rise. In 2011, 13% of the US population is age 65 or older

SEATTLE—The highest proportion of overweight and obese people – 13% of the global total – live in the United States, a country which accounts for only 5% of the world’s population, according to a first-of-its-kind analysis of trend data from 188 countries.

An estimated 160 million Americans are either obese or overweight. Nearly three-quarters of American men and more than 60% of women are obese or overweight. These are also major challenges for America’s children – nearly 30% of boys and girls under age 20 are either obese or overweight, up from 19% in 1980.

Key findings:

More than 50% of the world’s 671 million obese live in 10 countries (ranked beginning with the countries with the most obese people): US, China, India, Russia, Brazil, Mexico, Egypt, Germany, Pakistan, and Indonesia.
In high-income countries, some of the greatest increases in adult obesity have been in the US, Australia (where nearly 30% of men and women are obese), and the UK (where around a quarter of the adult population is obese).
Today, 2.1 billion people – nearly one-third of the world’s population – are overweight or obese. The number of overweight and obese individuals in the world has increased from 857 million (20%) in 1980 to 2.1 billion (30%) in 2013.
From 1980 to 2013, the prevalence of overweight and obesity in children increased by nearly 50%.

SUMMARY- Joy’s TAVALA Journey (details & pics)

First of all let me give a little disclaimer- I decided to do this 14-day TAVALA ‘Journey’ because I wanted to try all of the products I represent, give a true assessment of how they work for ME, and also because I felt I needed some incentive and accountability by making it public! OH….and to be honest, I’ve been SO IMPRESSED with the weight loss results and especially the physical transformation of so many people on our team that I realized the TAVALA TRIM (and other products, if used daily) could be my weight loss solution as well.

I decided I’d HAD IT with carrying around 15 lbs. of blubber around the belly since menopause….so decided on May 3rd to take the plunge. It is not because my husband thought I was fat (although I was sporting a thick waist line and many of my yoga pants were bursting at the seams!) Yup, Menopause gave me the famous ‘men-o-pot’ that is also commonly known as the ‘muffin top’!

I believe it is important to do something for YOU, because YOU want to. Taking care of oneself has often been thought of selfish, yet as I get older I realize ‘self care’ (or taking care of yourself) is the most generous thing we can do for our own well-being as well as those people who care about us and are in our lives.

Unlike many people using the TAVALA TRIM, I weighed myself on Day 1, Day 8 and today, Day 15. Here are my results, to my best of knowledge. Day 8 the scale said I had lost a whopping 1 lb. but using my weight from a recent prior date it said I had dropped 7.4 lbs. (lesson…..body weight varies from day to day, especially for women!) I’m going to go with the 7.4 as of last week, adding another -.4 gives me a total FAT loss of 7.8 lbs. This is exciting as Dave and I have begun working again again with weights, and I can tell both of us have put on muscle weight.

SUMMARY of My Results! What good would it be to share results without photos? Here you go: Before and After (note, with same clothes on and same ‘stance’, only difference is a slight smile on my face.) 🙂

Weight Loss in Pounds: 7.8 (going with higher weight noted in previous blog)

Total Inch Loss: 9.25 (Break down) : Neck: 1/4″ Chest:1″ Waist: 3.5″

Men-o-pot: 2.5″ Hips: 1.25 Thigh: 1.25″ Arm (Bicep-Tricep area): 1/2″ Calf: same

For those who read my blog yesterday you may have learned that my ENERGY and FOCUS improved dramatically. My sleep improved dramatically as well with waking up well-rested in the morning and falling asleep within 15 min. of going to bed. I had energy throughout the day, no afternoon “blah’s”, and zero cravings for my favorite ‘off limit’ products or alcohol. Shocking!

Will I stop here? Heck no! I promised myself that I will stay on course until I have eliminated those 15 lbs. that snuck up on me while I was paying more attention to my hot-flashes than my body weight!

Day 13- Joy’s TAVALA Journey….

This was me 13 days ago. Since I rarely step on the scale to assess my ‘size’ I was quite shocked to read the number on the scale 13 days ago. I’m quite sure it said HELP!

Luckily, HELP was available and this is what my 14-day ‘TAVALA’ blitz is all about. Embracing a healthy lifestyle using the TAVALA products for 14 days straight….. with the main “back bone, if you will, being the TAVALA TRIM and TAVALA CONTROL. I already know I’ll continue as I feel so healthy using these products!
